Jacob is no stranger to the restaurant business, he grew up in the industry right alongside his father who owns a successful local chain of Mexican restaurants that have been in business for over 15 years. Jacob was raised learning how to run a restaurant and what good service is all about and has put his own spin on multi-dimensional flavors with dishes you usually don’t find at other area Mexican restaurants.

2) What was the inspiration for your current menu and what ingredients are sourced locally?
My Inspiration for the Mestizos menu was just my upbringing in Mexican Cuisine. My father has been a restaurateur for the past 18 years and to bring Real Authentic Traditional Mexican Entrees and the love for Tex-Mex all to one unique menu.

9) Where did the name Mestizos Mexican Cafe come from?
It was a name my father had used in his first Taqueria he ever opened, which just so happens to be created in a local gas station in our neighborhood. The meaning behind “Mestizos” is just a person who has a mix of two or more different Races. For example, I am 1/2 American and 1/2 Mexican so I am considered to be a Mestizo.

11) Mestizos is already planning an expansion into the next-door space, what do you plan to do differently and what plans do you have for that space?
First and foremost is to create a welcoming atmosphere and adding a “Host” to formally greet and sit guests. Adding the new addition obviously increases capacity but also allows us to create a “Private or Party room” for future Birthdays, Events, and Celebrations. With Completion of the additional space will come our Custom covered patio that will be the tip of the Iceberg.
